Several Montreal metro stations evacuated Sunday after two commuters pepper-sprayed each other

By News Staff

An altercation between two riders on the Montreal metro, who pepper-sprayed each other in the Atwater station, led to the evacuation of several stations Sunday night.

Montreal police responded to the incident, but the two suspects were no longer on the scene when officers arrived. No arrests have been made so far.

Service was interrupted on the orange line between Berri-UQAM and Snowdon stations, as well as on the green line between Berri-UQAM and Angrignon.

Service finally resumed around 7:45 p.m.

There have been at least three similar incidents since the beginning of the year in the Montreal metro.

In early January, two separate events on the same day, forcing the shutdown of entire lines and the evacuation of passengers.

No arrests in those cases either.
