The driver who killed Montreal conductor Boris Brott in a hit-and-run last year – has been sentenced to nearly eight years in jail.
Arsenije Lojovic, 35, struck and killed the internationally renown conductor on April 5, 2022, in Hamilton, Ontario.
He will face six years for failing to stop after a crash resulting in a death, three years for dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, and one year for breaching probation.

With the time served, the sentence is just under eight years.
Lojovic has also been prohibited from driving in Canada for the rest of his life.
He had pleaded not guilty to all three counts. But was found guilty of dangerous driving causing death and failing to remain at the scene of the fatal crash in July.
78-year-old Brott, was the conductor of the Montreal Classical Orchestra, founder of the Brott Music Festival, and founder and artistic director of the National Academy Ochestra of Canada.
