Man in critical condition in Montreal after being struck by car

MONTREAL – A pedestrian in his 30s is fighting for his life in Montreal after being hit by a vehicle in Ahuntsic-Cartierville overnight.

The collision occurred around 1:50 a.m. Friday on de l’Acadie Blvd, at the intersection with Sauvé Street.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition with serious injuries, and his life was still in danger on Friday morning.

The motorist, also a man in his thirties, was hospitalized for shock.

The Montreal police set up a security perimeter around the site of the collision to allow its investigators to carry out their analysis of the evidence. This was lifted shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday.
