Commercial building targeted by arsonists in Villeray

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after an incendiary object was thrown into a commercial building in Villeray.

Calls coming into emergency services at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday about the incident on Saint-Denis Street and Crémazie Blvd.

Firefighters quickly brought the incendiary object under control.

There were no reported injuries.

The building itself is under construction and damages are considered minor.

The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

A year ago, the same building was also the target of a Molotov cocktail.
