Man found dead in ‘makeshift shelter,’ in the Plateau

A man in his 40s was found lifeless in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough – in a “makeshift shelter” – on Monday morning.

Montreal police (SPVM) responding to a 911 call at around 10:15 a.m.

Officers found the “body in a makeshift shelter located between two buildings on Léo-Pariseau, near Jeanne-Mance streets,” explained Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

A perimeter was put in place as investigators and forensic technicians assess the scene and determine more about the circumstances surrounding the death.
