Four hotels are affected by a labour dispute on Friday in Quebec.
Union members at the Hilton Hotel in Laval were on strike Thursday and Friday, while those at the Bonaventure Hotel in Montreal and the Pur Hotel in Quebec City have launched an unlimited strike.
Marriott Château Champlain workers have been locked out by their employer until Oct. 1, the CSN said on Friday.
These labour disputes are linked to a coordinated negotiation by the Fédération du commerce, affiliated with the CSN, and unions with different employers can consult amongst each other.
The federation is seeking to obtain an initial settlement and export it to another employer.
However, no settlements have been reached, even though negotiation have been ongoing for months.
Union members are demanding a 36 per cent wage increase over four years, including 15 per cent in the first year.
Workers said they made sacrifices during the pandemic to help hoteliers during the crisis and now want to make up for it.
Hotel owners reiterated that their employees already enjoy good working conditions and salaries.
