Quebec could see snowfall in October

By News Staff

The beginning of October will be mild and dry but Environment Canada is forecasting that the weather may change quickly, and snowflakes could appear in Quebec this month.

The weather agency noted on Tuesday that October is usually when snowfall appears in the province.

The weather is expected to cool down starting next week, followed by more frequent precipitation.

September was marked by a low-pressure system that slowly crossed western Quebec from Sept. 6 to 8, with 50 to 100 mm of rain.

On Sept. 26, two tornadoes touched down in Saint-Stanislas-de-Champlain and Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade, in Mauricie, during a thunderstorm.
