Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge closed weekend of Dec. 6

The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable warns drivers that the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge will be completely closed next weekend.

Required as part of the reconstruction project, this obstruction will make it possible to adjust the configuration of the lanes of Highway 40 to the approaches to the bridge, in anticipation of the winter period.

Friday, December 6, at 11:59 p.m. to Monday, December 9, at 5 a.m.

The Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge, linking Senneville and Vaudreuil-Dorion along Highway 40 (Félix-Leclerc), will be completely closed to traffic during the weekend of December 6, 2024. (CNW Group/Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility)
  • Complete closure of Highway 40 westbound between Exit No 41 – Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue/des Anciens-Combattants Blvd./Highway 20 westbound/Île Perrot and the entrance from Saint-Charles Avenue.
    • Westbound, access to Senneville Road will be maintained for local traffic.
  • Complete closure of Highway 40 eastbound between Exit No 35 – Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac/Vaudreuil-Dorion/Av. St-Charles and the entrance from Des Anciens-Combattants Boulevard.
    • The ramp leading from Highway 40 eastbound to the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge will be closed in the interchange with Highway 30. Users are invited to use highways 20 and 30.

The detour routes will be marked with temporary signage.

On Monday, December 9 at 5 a.m., a total of three lanes will be available on the bridge, including two toward Montreal for the morning rush hour thanks to dynamic traffic management.

Work may be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to weather conditions or operational constraints.

Drivers can also consult Québec 511, to properly plan their trip.
