Montreal woman discovers $500,000 Lotto Max ticket while cleaning garage

Sandra Turrin, a resident of the Laurentians, stumbled upon a winning Lotto Max ticket worth $500,000 while cleaning her garage.
The ticket, purchased last summer, had been tucked away in a grocery bag.
“I feel twice as lucky,” said Turrin after claiming her prize. “I not only won, but I also found the ticket before it expired!”
The winning ticket was part of the August 13, 2024, Lotto Max draw, and Turrin made the surprising discovery just in time, as the deadline for claiming the prize was fast approaching. Before tossing the ticket, she decided to double-check it, leading to her life-changing discovery.
Turrin plans to use the money to pay off part of her mortgage.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Jean Coutu pharmacy on Saint-Jacques Blvd. in Boisbriand.
