Longueuil police (SPAL) are asking the public for help in identifying potential victims after two suspects were arrested Tuesday morning in connection with sexual exploitation activities that allegedly occurred over the past four years.
Jeffrey Beauchemin and Mathieu Desrosiers, both 21 years old, were arrested following several reports of suspicious behaviour in both Longueuil and Quebec City.
Authorities believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward.
Charges related to sexual services, including procuring, material benefit, and advertising could be faced by the two suspects. As well as substance trafficking, extortion, and sexual assault of adult women charges could be pursued.
“A search was also conducted at an address in the Longueuil metropolitan area in connection with this case,” the SPAL said.
“They used social media as a method to phish their victims,” the SPAL added, saying that the suspects used false names when making contact.
The two appeared in court and remain detained. Their next court appearance is scheduled for July 10th.
Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim or who has additional information about the two individuals can contact the SPAL by calling 450-463-7192.
