2 in hospital following armed attack in Plateau Mont-Royal borough

Two people are in hospital after an armed attack Sunday morning in Montreal’s Plateau. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

Two people are in hospital following an armed attack Sunday morning.

SPVM says that officers responded to a report of a fight in progress near the intersection of Prince-Arthur East Street and Saint Laurent Boulevard in the Plateau Mont-Royal borough around 8:15 a.m.

When they arrived at the scene, several individuals fled and a 27 year-old man was found injured.

He was then taken to hospital with significant upper body injuries.

Speaking to witnesses, police learned that the man was involved in a fight with several people, and may have been hit several times.

Another man, aged 30, was also injured in an alley near Saint-Laurent Boulevard. Police were able to find the man suffering from upper body injuries and unconscious. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are not able to confirm if both men are connected to the same incident at this time.

A perimeter was also set up around the area in order to investigate the matter further.

SPVM adds no arrests have been made at this time.
