Quebec adds 104 COVID patients, 11 more deaths

Quebec with a major increase in COVID hospitalizations, adding 104 patients in the last 24 hours – with five more in ICU.
The province reporting 11 deaths linked to the virus and 15,708 fatalities total since the pandemic began.
7,094 health care workers now absent from the system for COVID-related reasons – a jump of over 400 from the previous day.
1,767 people being treated in hospital for the virus – 258 new entries and 139 discharges. Increasing by 18 per cent over the last seven days, with an average of 39 new patients daily.
Of those, 43 in ICU – with 18 newly admitted and 13 released. Up by 8 per cent over the last week.
The latest data shows the province is dealing with 424 active outbreaks.
A total of 2,164 new infections in the last 24 hours, with 677 tests self-declared by Quebecers who were positive. The overall case numbers likely an undercount as access to PCR tests is limited to specific groups and not everyone self-declare their rapid tests.
Vaccination rates:
-55 per cent of those 18+ have gotten a third dose, with 1,552 boosters administered in the last 24 hours
-16 per cent of those eligible have gotten a fourth shot, with 7,754 doses of the second booster administered in the last 24 hours
