Montreal deals with cold, wet and windy conditions

MONTREAL (CityNews) – Montreal is dealing with another round of strange weather.

Several area schools were closed on Thursday because of the slippery conditions.

English Montreal School Board: all school and centres closed due to poor weather conditions.

Lester B Pearson School Board: All schools and all adult & vocational centres, day care services and the Head Office.

Swlsb: All Sir Wilfrid-Laurier School Board schools, adult education, vocational training centres, daycares and head office are closed today (to students and staff).

New Frontiers School Board: all schools, adult centres and admin offices closed. Off-territory schools serviced by New Frontiers will not have transportation.

Commission scolaire Riverside / Riverside School Board:
All schools, centres & daycare services closed due to ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Commission scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys (CSMB): all schools closed.

Talmud Torah / Herzliah: all schools closed due to poor weather conditions.

The Sacred Heart School of Montreal: closed to all students & staff due to poor weather and road conditions.

Contactivity Seniors Centre: Closed due to hazardous travel conditions post-freezing rain.

Environment Canada earlier issued a freezing rain warning.

Throughout Thursday, people can expect rain or snow, changing to snow overnight.

By Friday, that snow will taper off to flurries and by Saturday, it will be sunny, but cold with only a high of -13.
