CALABASAS (NEWS 1130) — According to TMZ the former NBA superstar, Kobe Bryant, was killed when his private helicopter crashed in California, Sunday morning.

Bryant was reportedly one of five passengers on a helicopter that crashed in Calabasas, west of Los Angeles.

His death was first reported by TMZ and has been confirmed by multiple other sources, including Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The five time NBA champion played all 20 seasons with the Lakers and retired after the 2015-16 season. An 18-time all-star, Bryant finished his career third on the all-time scoring list with 33,643 points, a mark that was passed by LeBron James on Saturday.
