Montreal pools reopen with additional safety precautions

MONTREAL (CITYNEWS) – Many Montreal pools reopened Saturday with the city in the middle of a heatwave.

However, pools are required to take extra safety precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anybody displaying symptoms of the virus or who has been in contact with a sick person will not be allowed on the premises. People who have been out of the country in the past 14 days will also not be allowed in.

Bathers will not be permitted to shower at the pool facilities and must apply sunscreen before arriving on location. They will also be asked to wash their hands before and after swimming.

The locker rooms will be closed, and social distancing needs to be maintained at all times.

Not all public pools are open. Montrealers are being asked to check with their individual borough before heading out.
