Montreal police probe shooting death of man, 22, in north central neighbourhood

Montreal police say a 22-year-old man is dead after being shot in the upper body Sunday night.
The shooting took place in the city’s Villeray district in north central Montreal.
Police say 911 calls were made at about 9:45 p.m. for gunshots, and police found the victim on the ground at an intersection.
Attempts to revive the victim were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
Montreal police have set up a large perimeter in the area and investigators are going door-to-door to speak to possible witnesses.
Police say no arrests have been made in connection with the killing, the 17th reported in Montreal so far in 2021.
