Montreal’s Palais des congrès COVID-19 vaccination site closing

By News Staff

The Palais des congrès COVID-19 vaccination site is closing its doors Feb. 24.

After administering more than 440,000 doses, public health says the downtown site has seen a consistent drop, averaging 400 shots a day, when they were at 3,000 daily at its peak.

CIUSSS du Centre-Sud says 84 per cent of Montrealers are double-vaccinated.

A new site will open March 1 at 995 de Maisonneuve Blvd. east, minutes walk from BerriUQAM metro station.

It will be called the Berri Centre-Sud vaccination clinic, with a daily capacity of administering 500 doses – open seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Those who currently have a first dose appointment booked for Palais des congrès will be contacted to let them know their second will be moved to the Berri Centre-Sud site.

Anyone with an appointment after Feb. 24 at Palais des congrès will also be contacted, by phone or email, to confirm the location change.

There are currently 13 vaccine sites on the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud territory, with nine temporary locations.

Anyone who wishes to modify their appointment can head to Clic Santé or call 514-644-4545.
