Quebec adding 30 more COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours. Hospitalizations with a major decrease of 67 patients and ICU numbers down by one compared to the previous day.
This, as the mask mandate in most public spaces will come to an end Saturday, with the exception of public transit, hospitals, clinics, CHSLDs, and for those who test positive for COVID and are out of their isolation period. Masks won’t be required in mental-health facilities.
But the government still recommends masks for some – including the most vulnerable and the immunocompromised.
The latest data shows the province is dealing with 701 active outbreaks, a decrease of 70 from the previous day.
15,256 fatalities total since the pandemic began.
1,754 people being treated for the virus in hospital – 92 new entries and 159 discharges.
Of those, 59 in ICU – with six newly admitted and seven released.

A total of 900 new infections, with 182 tests self-declared by Quebecers who were positive. The overall case numbers likely an undercount as access to PCR tests is limited to specific groups and not everyone self-declare their rapid tests.
6,115 health care workers are absent from the system for COVID-related reasons, down from the previous day (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.).
Vaccination rates:
-54 per cent of those 18+ have gotten a third dose, with 1K+ boosters administered in the last 24 hours
-12 per cent of those eligible have gotten a fourth shot, with 17K+ doses of the second booster administered in the last 24 hours
-20K+ doses administered last 24 hours, 19.7M+ total so far
