Montreal’s popular MURAL Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary – and it wants to invite you to the party starting today and until June 19.
A series of major concerts will be taking place to celebrate a decade of public art, creativity and community.
The celebrations will feature prominent artists as part of the lineup and will celebrate a decade of promoting the work of exceptional artists who leave an unfathomable legacy on the Montreal landscape.
The Main remains MURAL central
Saint-Laurent Blvd. will remain the beating heart of the festival, especially as it becomes pedestrian and packed with electric crowds.
“The 10th edition of MURAL will give it a brand new look, with a dozen large-scale murals being produced and of course, a plethora of artistic animations,” explains Pierre-Alain Benoît, general manager at MURAL.
One of the headliners of the 10th edition of MURAL will be American artist, entrepreneur and activist Shepard Fairey, also creator of the OBEY brand, who will be visiting Montreal for the very first time. Fairey is best known for his “Hope” poster, created for Barack Obama’s electoral campaign.
High on the list of best-known urban artists of the last three decades, Fairey will leave his mark on Montreal by creating a major mural in the heart of the red light district on Sant-Laurent Blvd.

The festival will be presenting a series of major shows outside to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
From Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12, three large-scale outdoor shows will take place in downtown Montreal, at a site located at 650 Peel street, south of Saint-Jacques. The site will have a capacity of approximately 4,000 people and is located steps from Bonaventure metro and major thoroughfares.
MURAL’s 10th edition major concerts will call upon international artists as well as local talent. Along with new major concerts, MURAL 2022 will also present 10 nights of shows and events on Saint-Laurent Blvd.as per usual.
