Quebec adds 34 COVID patients in hospital, 13 more deaths

Quebec with 13 more COVID-related deaths reported, as patients in hospital with the virus are up by 34 people – seven more in ICU compared to the previous day.

6,644 health care workers are absent from the system due to COVID.

The latest data shows the province is dealing with 228 active outbreaks.

15,589 fatalities total since the pandemic began.

1,294 people hospitalized with COVID – 152 new entries and 118 discharges.

Of those, 42 in ICU – with 10 newly admitted and three released.

A total of 1,568 new cases added in the last 24 hours, with 705 tests self-declared by Quebecers who were positive. The overall case numbers likely an undercount as access to PCR tests is limited to specific groups and not everyone self-declare their rapid tests.

Vaccination rates:  

-55 per cent of those 18+ have gotten a third dose, with 1,293 boosters administered in the last 24 hours

-15 per cent of those eligible have gotten a fourth shot, with 4,606 doses of the second booster administered in the last 24 hours

-6K+ doses administered last 24 hours, 20M+ total so far
