Quebec television personality and weather presenter Nadège St-Philippe died Saturday, after a battle with cancer.

She had been with TVA Nouvelles since 2006, owned a jewelry line and also worked as a fitness coach.

“There are very few words to express the sadness we feel, Nadège will leave a very big void. We are losing a colleague who is very dear to us, but also a friend of the big family of TVA,” reads a statement.

She was first diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer in 2011.

In the fall of 2021, her doctor contacted her to tell her that a polyp that had been removed was cancerous.

In a March Instagram post, Nadège shared the news: “On December 1, I had to stop everything and on January 1, 2022, I received my first dose of chemotherapy. I am starting to get back.  Since February 18, I am making a gradual return to my professional activities that I love.”

Adding that she hoped to be back on television within six months.

Many took to social media to express their condolences.

“What sad news. This is a talented young woman who is leaving us much too soon. My thoughts are with the family of Nadège today. My deep and sincere condolences to all her relatives,” wrote Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante.

Quebec Premier François Legault adding, “Her presence brightened up the weather in Quebec and we will miss her.”
