Teacher, foster parent & scout leader arrested for alleged sexual contact with children

Sherbrooke police are looking for potential victims of an alleged pedophile in the Eastern Townships.

Raphaël Bélisle, 25, who is a teacher, foster parent and involved with scouts, was arrested Tuesday for alleged sexual contact with two children under the age of 16.

Sherbrooke police say they believe there could be more victims and additional charges could be laid.

Anyone with information, or who believes they may have been a victim of Bélisle, is asked to contact Sherbrooke police at 819-821-5555.

Bélisle worked for the Centre de services scolaires des Hauts-Cantons – whose territory includes Coaticook, East Angus and Lac-Mégantic.

He was also a foster parent for Quebec’s Youth Protection Services – the DPJ.
