Montreal police say they’ve arrested a man in connection with an incident at the Jewish General Hospital in August that allegedly involved a BB gun.
A warrant had been issued for 26-year-old Menachem Mendel Cohen on charges that included possession of an imitation weapon and various other misdemeanors.
He was arrested Sept. 15 in Toronto and transferred back to Montreal, where he’s scheduled to appear in court.
The incident dates back to Aug. 9, when Cohen was reportedly in front of the Jewish General Hospital and pulled out a BB gun.
He allegedly pointed it at the sky, put it back on his belt and entered the hospital.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 call, but the suspect had already left the scene before they arrived.
Half an hour later, the suspect allegedly shot at a residence on Carlton Avenue, near the hospital.
Pellets were found at the scene.
There were no injuries reported for either event.
