Man arrested for attempted kidnapping in Laval

A 54-year-old man has been arrested for an attempted kidnapping in Laval on October 1, 2022.

At around 1 a.m. that day a 21-year-old woman was dropped off by her Uber in the parking lot of the Montmorency metro station.

The woman was then allegedly accosted by Marc-André Cauvier, who tried to abduct her.

She managed to fight him off and run away.

Cauvier is facing charges of attempted kidnapping, forcible confinement and assault.

He was arrested Oct. 10 and remains in custody until his next court hearing on Oct. 13.

The Laval police force believe this man could have additional victims and asks anyone with information to please contact them confidentially at 450 662-INFO (4636) or through 911 and mention file LVL-221001-007.
