SPVM investigate: 12 more vehicles set on fire, 28 cars ablaze in under 36 hours

A dozen vehicles were set on fire Friday morning in Lachine, Montreal police (SPVM) calling it another case of suspected arson after 16 cars were set ablaze Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Calls coming into 911 about the latest incident around 4:15 a.m. in an industrial area parking lot on Pacifique Ave., below the on-ramp to the Mercier bridge.

Firefighters working to stop the flames, but the blaze spread to a commercial building.

According to authorities, accelerant was found on the scene and the file transferred to the arson squad to investigate.

No one was injured.

SPVM report that it’s too early to say whether or not all the vehicle fires in the last few days are connected.
