Montrealers protest Iran’s deadly repression of demonstrators

In downtown Montreal, hundreds stood solidarity with those in Iran, many with their hands painted red and holding photos of those killed in violent crackdowns by the Iranian regime.

Hundreds came together in downtown Montreal at Phillips Square to stand in solidarity with those protesting in Iran, following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.

Those in attendance Saturday stood in rows, with red painted hands, holding pictures of those killed in violent crackdowns by the Iranian regime.

The event also focused on Iran’s intense crackdown on protesters in Kurdish areas, located in western Iran. The U.N. rights monitor this week noted reports of 40 deaths over the past week in that area alone.
