Close to 4,000 health workers out sick due to COVID-19, as hospitalizations see major increase

Quebec with 27 more COVID deaths, hospitalizations with a major increase of 70 patients, and almost 4,000 health workers out sick.
The latest data shows the province is dealing with 377 active outbreaks and 3,908 health workers absent from the system due to the virus.
17,354 fatalities total since the pandemic began: one in the last 24 hours, 16 added from the last week to the total, and 10 that occurred over seven days ago.
1,946 people being treated in hospital, but 600 of those admitted because of COVID-19 symptoms, the rest tested positive after being hospitalized for other ailments. 194 new entries and 124 discharges.
Of those, 51 in ICU, including 24 specifically for COVID and the rest testing positive after being admitted – that number stable compared to the previous day, with 10 newly admitted and 10 released.
