80-year-old woman fatally struck by car in LaSalle

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car Friday night in Montreal.
Police say the collision occurred around 8:50 p.m. on Angrignon Boulevard, near Newman Boulevard, in LaSalle.
An SPVM spokesperson told The Canadian Press the vehicle was travelling southbound on Angrignon Boulevard, according to witnesses.
The collision is believed to have happened when the pedestrian attempted to cross the street eastbound, between two intersections.
The 80-year-old woman suffered upper-body injuries. She was in critical condition when taken to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver, a 40-year-old man, was not injured.
Police say alcohol and speed are not factors in the collision.
The SPVM is investigating.
