7-year-old girl killed after being hit by a vehicle in Montreal: SPVM

A seven-year-old girl was killed after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough, police have confirmed.
The SPVM says many 911 calls were made around 8:05 a.m. about a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on Parthenais Street, near de Rouen Street.
Once on site, they located a child with life-threatening injuries. The young victim was transported to hospital in critical condition.
She later died in hospital, according to Montreal police.
The vehicle involved and driver fled the scene before officers arrived.
By 6 p.m. Tuesday, police said a man in his 40s was being interviewed by investigators in connection with the case.

Nurses and a doctor from a CLSC nearby the scene also came out when the incident happened to help the child as the ambulance arrived.
A security perimeter was set up to investigate the cause of the collision, speak to witnesses and locate potential security footage.
