The 53-year-old man went to a police station and was met by investigators.

Authorities said that during the conflict, the suspect would have inflicted injuries on the victim with a “sharp object,” before fleeing on foot.

The victim was confirmed dead on the scene.

This is the 36th murder of the year on the island of Montreal – now equaling the total number of homicides recorded in 2021.
