Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery union workers’ strike

The Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery Workers’ Union is expected to call an indefinite general strike starting Thursday at midnight.

This strike comes following the adoption of an unlimited general strike mandate on November 21.

The Union of Workers of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery (STTCNDDN-CSN) says it has been without a contract since December 31, 2018. It has been negotiating a wage increase since November 2019.

Seventeen members of the Union of office employees of the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges-CSN Cemetery have been on an indefinite general strike since October 20th.

Cemetery employees say that their employer has been blocking negotiations and intimidating its members.
