SAAQ launching new digital platform, 3-weeks no service during transition

As of February, Quebecers will be able to access their Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) file online.

The new SAAQclic platform will allow people to do most transactions online, including view, cancel or replace their driver’s license, or transfer a license plate from one name to another.

The online portal is expected to be in place by February 20. In person, or by phone, services will still be available for those who need it.

However, until then, non-critical SAAQ services will be unavailable as of Jan. 26, 2023 for three weeks.

Between Jan. 26 and Feb. 19 – the SAAQ will be transferring the data to SAAQclic – which means it will be impossible to make licence or registration payments in person. Citizens can still use their financial institutions to make the payments.

Service centres will remain open during this time period, but the SAAQ asks citizens to use them only if absolutely necessary.

Here is a list of services that will be available, and those unavailable.
