The 28-year-old, who was arrested Feb. 1, was previously charged with sexual assault.

The alleged sexual assaults involved five women between July 2022 and January 2023.

Police believe Moderie would contact his victims through dating sites, then meet them and drug them without their knowledge. Once the women were unconscious, he allegedly sexually assaulted them and stole from them.

The events would have happened in Montreal, McMasterville and Saint-Jérôme.

He was arrested by Montreal police in collaboration with Richelieu-Saint-Laurent police, Saint-Jérôme police and the Sûreté du Québec.

When police announced his arrest on Feb. 2, they said there was reason to believe there were more victims.
