By News Staff

A 61-year-old STM bus driver who was heading south on Cavendish Boulevard on Thursday morning was hospitalized after veering off the road, after suffering what’s suspected to be a “medical situation.”

A Montreal police spokesperson told CityNews the driver was near the intersection of Côte-Saint-Luc Road – in Côte-Saint-Luc – when he suddenly slowed down, swerved off the road and crashed into a tree.

While not confirmed, police suspect he may have suffered some sort of “medical situation” like a heart attack and may have tried to slow the bus down.

The bus driver was taken to the hospital but police have no update on his current condition.

No passengers or pedestrians were injured in the collision.
