West Island networking breakfast to celebrate women in Montreal

Over 80 local community leaders, elected officials and non-profits gathered in Pointe-Claire on Thursday morning for the West Island Women’s Centre’s International Women’s Day celebration and networking breakfast.

This year’s theme was to Embrace Equity.

CityNews Montreal’s Fariha Naqvi-Mohamed was a keynote speaker for the event. She spoke about the difference between equality and equity, as well as how the West Island community can promote diversity and inclusion.

She was joined by Human Resources expert Sherri Rabinovitch who spoke about bringing more equity to the workplace.

This was the first time the annual breakfast has been held in person since 2019.
