SQ investigating man shot dead in Laval, may be connected to organized crime

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating after a 61-year-old man was shot and killed in Chomedey, Laval on Thursday morning.
Laval police received 911 calls shortly after 7 a.m. for gunshots heard on du Havre Street, near 83rd Avenue.
Once on the scene, a man is his early 60s was located on the ground.
“When they arrived on the scene there was someone seriously injured. He was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced dead,” said Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
“There might be links to organized crime,” added Savoie, “that’s why we’ve taken the lead on the investigation, but we’re still collaborating with Laval police.”
The investigation is ongoing and police officers are interviewing neighbours to find out if they saw anything.
No arrests have been made at the moment.
