More road closures could cause traffic headaches this weekend

After motorists spent hours in traffic on the 20 Westbound last weekend – due to part of the highway being closed because of road work – additional closures this weekend could also cause problems.

Part of Highway 40 Eastbound in the West Island between Morgan in Baie-D’Urfé and St-Charles in Kirkland will be closing this weekend until December.

The Ville-Marie Expressway will also be closed between Panet and Lucien-L’Allier westbound, and between the de la Montagne exit and Atateken street eastbound – starting late Friday night.

Transport Quebec has said they will debrief the situation on the 20 Westbound last weekend to determine what went wrong and how they can do better in the future.

They continue to encourage motorists to plan their trip using Quebec 511 before hitting the road.
