MONTREAL – Montreal police are investigating another suspicious fire in Montreal East early Tuesday morning.
Two cars parked in front of a commercial building on Notre-Dame Street, near the intersection of Broadway Avenue, were lit on fire at around 2:30 a.m.
Firefighters from the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (SSIM) were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the building, but the cars sustained significant damage. They handed over the investigation to the arson squad of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
No incendiary objects had been found at the scene. The cars were towed away for examination by investigators.
Police were looking for surveillance cameras in the area to see if they captured any images that could help the investigation and locate suspects.
