UPDATE June 9: Police arrested two suspects Thursday in connection with the June 3 shooting death of a 61-year-old man in a residential building on Sainte-Catherine east in downtown Montreal.
The suspects are men aged 53 and 67. Both are scheduled to appear today at the Montreal courthouse, where they will be charged with first-degree murder.
This was the 11th homicide of the year on Montreal police territory for 2023.
Montreal police say they are investigating after one man died in a shooting outside an apartment Saturday.
Investigators say a man, 61, was allegedly shot in front of a building in the city’s Ville-Marie district, located east of downtown, at around 8 a.m.
The victim was struck in the upper body and declared dead at the scene.
Police said later in the day the death was being investigated as a homicide.
There have been no arrests made so far.
It’s the 11th homicide in Montreal this year.
