SQ asking for public’s help to identify suspect in Mont-Saint-Hilaire murder case

By News Staff

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection with the murder of Nadine Flora Alinanyinyi on January 10 in Mont-Saint-Hilaire.

On January 12, 2023, at around 2 p.m., Régie intermunicipale de police Richelieu Saint-Laurent officers went to a residence on rue Joseph Elzéar Bernier in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, where they found the body of the woman in her 30s.

A child under the age of one was also found onsite – but suffered no injuries.

Alinanyinyi was a health-care worker from Cameroon and had been on maternity leave when she was murdered.

The surveillance video shows an individual circulating near the location at the time of the event. Investigators have reason to believe that he may be linked to the case.

Authorities at the time said they had met with the baby’s father, but did not consider him a suspect.

Her employer said in a statement in January that Alinanyinyi was appreciated by her peers.

Anyone with information about the individual police are searching for, are asked to contact 911. In addition, any information that could help locate the person can be communicated, confidentially, to the Sûreté du Québec’s Centrale de l’information criminelle at 1-800-659-4264.
