Police in Ontario have arrested a man in connection with the killing of Claudia Iacono, the daughter-in-law of a late Montreal mobster.

Iacono was shot and killed in the parking lot of her beauty salon in the Côte-des-Neiges–NDG on May 16.

She was the daughter-in-law of Montreal Mafia member Moreno Gallo, who was murdered a decade ago in Mexico.

Ontario Provincial Police arrested a 28-year-old suspect Tuesday night in Milton, near Toronto, at the request of the SPVM.

He was scheduled to appear Wednesday afternoon at the Montreal courthouse to be charged with first-degree murder.

“We had all the information linked to this man, so we contacted Ontario and they gave us a good support and he’s appeared today for murder,” said SPVM major crimes commander Jean-Sébastien Caron said. “The Ontario provincial police helped us a lot.
