Montreal police arson squad investigate fire at shoe store

The Montreal police arson squad is investigating a suspicious fire – where a shoe store was seemingly targeted in Saint-Laurent overnight.

Officers responded to a call around 1:40 a.m. about a blaze on Bégin, near Thimens Blvd.

When police arrived, firefighters were already bringing the situation under control.

A possible incendiary object was located on the scene – that might have been thrown into a window that was smashed.

Damage to the building was minor and no one was injured.

No suspects have been identified so far.
