Gas prices in Montreal highest we have seen in 2023

It was expensive for Montrealers filling their gas tanks Monday. Gas prices are currently the highest they have been throughout the year.

While prices still vary by small increments, prices as high as $1.85 a litre were reported on the island.

Prices remain lower than last year’s, which hit highs of $2.19 per litre last June.

Oil prices are on the rise and expected to stay high for the next couple of months.

The wholesale price for gas is pretty much the same in Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes. The difference in price relates to taxation.
