A Montreal man was charged with first-degree murder after his 34-year-old wife was found dead Saturday in Wickham, Que.

Kevin Romagosa, 39, of Pierrefonds was formally charged during his appearance by videoconference at the Drummondville courthouse, where he is expected again Monday morning for further proceedings.

He was also charged with indecent interference with remains.

Robyn-Krystel O’Reilly, 34, was found dead around noon on a rural property in Wickham – around 17 kilometres south of Drummondville in the Centre-du-Quebec region. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of her death.

Romagosa was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for medical evaluation.

Police say relatives of the two people involved initially called police in Montreal – where they were both from – after family became concerned about their safety.
