Montreal CrossFit athlete ‘Fittest Man on Earth’

Montreal CrossFit athlete Jeffrey Adler has earned the title of ‘Fittest Man on Earth’ after winning the 2023 No Bull Crossfit Games in Madison, Wisconsin earlier this month.
“To have won it this year is a great success for us,” said Jeffrey Adler. “Emotionally, it was so hard to figure out what emotions to have at that exact moment.”
The competition featured 12 events that test the strength, speed and endurance of the world’s best CrossFit athletes.
“We were battling with cramps, soreness, some blisters here and there and it’s just like you got to tape it up and go,” emphasized Adler.
Featured exercises included jump boxes and pull ups as well as more traditional sports such as running, cycling and weightlifting.
“We put so many hours into training,” explained Adler, adding, “we put so many hours into recovering, and we tried to have everything in our lives aligned to that goal.”
“Just pure joy and a lot of relief and just surprise,” said Caroline Lambray, Adler’s coach and fiancée. “You work towards this goal, but there’s a little bit of disbelief that it’s actually happening. It was a lot of emotions.”
Adler has been dreaming of this victory since working as a volunteer for the event in 2016.
“We did volunteer at the CrossFit games in 2016 and 2017 and then I wanted to come back at the games as a competitor, which we did in 2019,” said Adler.
Lambray adds that the key to his victory this year is that he has been focusing on improving his endurance. He’s now one of the top runners and cyclists in the CrossFit Games.
“We obviously put a lot of time on his gymnastics, on his endurance and cardio ability,” explained Lambray. “Jeff is known for his strength. So it’s not something that we had to necessarily focus on.”
“We’re both people that strive for performance in different ways, and what she does improves my performance,” added Adler.
Now back in Montreal, the ‘Fittest Man on Earth’ has his eyes set on repeating as champion.
“It’s a big title to have. And it’s one I’m going to try to keep,” stressed Adler.
