‘Legal hub’ for victims of racial profiling launching in Canada

By News Staff

A Quebec anti-racism organization is launching a “legal hub” of lawyers with an expertise in racial profiling to help potential victims.

Lawyers Against Racial Profiling (LARP) is an initiative by Red Coalition.

The group says the program will be “Canada’s premier source of knowledge” for the legal aspects surrounding racial profiling.

There will be an annual membership fee with benefits exclusive to members. It will be open to all Canadians.

The program is expected to officially launch “in the next couple of months.”

Red Coalition says several Quebec attorneys have already expressed interest in LARP.

New board members

Meanwhile the organization appointed two new board members this week: criminal lawyer Ralph Mastromonaco and Cosimo La Rosa, a court bailiff licensed by Chambre des Huissiers du Quebec.

Red Coalition introduced the newest members at a press conference Wednesday in Montreal.
