Montreal’s Lance Stroll crashes into wall during Singapore Grand Prix qualifying

By News Staff

Montreal race car driver Lance Stroll was involved in a massive crash during the first qualifying session for the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix on Saturday.

While on his final fast lap, the Aston Martin driver violently crashed into a wall before his car came to a halt in the middle of the track. Stroll lost his left front wing in the collision.

The Montrealer was able to exit his vehicle and did not appear injured. He visited a medical centre to undergo examinations.

The session was immediately suspended.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz clinched poll position ahead of George Russell’s Mercedes and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari.

A disastrous session for Red Bull saw Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez fail to reach the final stage of qualifying. They are slated to start 11th and 13th on the grid Sunday. The two drivers have won every race this season between them.
