House goes up in flames in Laval, spreads to other homes

A single-family home in Laval went up in flames on Tuesday morning, before spreading to two other residences.

Some 40 firefighters rushed to the scene on Lynne Street in Sainte-Dorothée around 5 a.m.

The blaze broke out in the backyard and quickly spread to the back of the home, before spreading to another residence next door.

No injuries were reported, but four families were evacuated.

The Laval fire department reports at least two other nearby homes have fire damage.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control shortly after 7 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
