By The Canadian Press

Police say shots were fired at a Montreal business with three people inside early Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called around 12:30 a.m. to the business on Charles-de-LaTour Street near Chabanel Street in Ahuntsic-Cartierville.

“On the scene, the police located at least one projectile impact on the façade of the business,” said Jeanne Drouin, an SPVM spokesperson.

“According to information, the suspect or suspects fled in a vehicle before police arrived.”

Three people were inside the business when the shots were fired, but no one was injured. It is not known whether those people or the business owner were targeted.

“For the moment, the causes and circumstances of this event remain unknown,” said Drouin. “During the night, the canine unit was deployed to search for evidence. Forensic identification technicians were also on site to analyze the scene.”
