Closures on three Montreal Highways over the weekend

The Quebec Transport Ministry says Montrealers can expect various road closures on major arteries across the city this weekend.

The province says Highway 40 will be completely closed westbound (towards Vaudreuil-Dorion) from Oct. 13 to 16, to work on the Des Pins Street overpass in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.

With the closure, exit 44 (Morgan Blvd.) will be shut down starting at 23:59 p.m., on Friday.

With this, Highway 40 will be completely closed between exit 41 – Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue / Boul. des Anciens-Combattants / A-20 WEST / Île Perrot and the entrance from Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants – until 5 a.m., on Oct. 16.

In addition, access from Morgan Boulevard will be closed and there will be a partial closure between exit 41 of A-40 WEST and the entrance from Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants, during the same time frame.

Ville-Marie Expressway

R-136 EST – Secteur Turcot – 13 au 16 octobre 2023 (Groupe CNW/Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable)

The Transport Ministry says the Ville-Marie Expressway (Route 136) will be closed eastbound between the Turcot interchange and downtown over the same weekend.

The closure will be to relocate a major drain and slab repair.

There will be a complete closure between the Turcot interchange and the entrances from de la Cathédrale Street and Robert-Bourassa Boulevard starting at 11:59 p.m. on Friday and lasting until 5 a.m., on Monday.

Due to this, the ramp from A-15 (Décarie) SOUTH to R-136 EAST, the ramp from A-15 NORTH to R-136 EAST, A-20 EAST / R-136 EAST in the interchange, and the entrance from Pullman Boulevard to Hwy. 136 East will also be closed.

Honoré Mercier Bridge

Entraves majeures – Échangeur Saint-Pierre – Fin de semaine du 13 octobre 2023 (Groupe CNW/Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable)

Lastly, the Transport Ministry says work will continue on the Honoré Mercier Bridge and the Saint-Pierre Interchange again over the weekend.

The work on the bridge will be weather-dependent and could have to be postponed depending on conditions.

If the work does go ahead, one lane will be available in each direction, Saturday and Sunday, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The ramp from Highway 138 eastbound (from the Honoré Mercier Bridge) to Highway 20 westbound (and to Dorval and the airport), will be closed between 11:59 p.m., on Friday and will reopen at 5 a.m., on Oct. 16.

There will also be complete night closures on Route 138 eastbound (from the Honoré Mercier Bridge to the Saint-Pierre interchange).
